Day 1 - Traveling from Chicago to Cusco, and thoughts about Peru

It’s our first day in the Sacred Valley. We were last in Peru 10 years ago, and we can already see that things are changing.
But first, the trip. We landed in Cusco after a long day of travel (and overnight at the airport hotel in Lima). It’s not that far (as the crow flies) to get to Peru but boy is it difficult to fly there from Chicago, our home base. We traveled Chicago to Miami, then Miami to Lima, and then Lima to Cusco. It took about 24 hours to get there.
Cusco has grown so much since we were here 10 years ago. It's amazing to see all of the construction going on. There clearly is money coming into this part of Peru, which it desperately needed.
