Lets get back to basics for 2024. We used to have a great time just you on the mic and a few thousand folks on the end of a phone or podcast. We don't care about the fluff!! Just what's on your mind and being yourself and answering questions. The YouTube channel does nothing for me.
Fair enough. Sadly, my participation in "This Week in Wealth" ended in July. So, I've been looking for something new to do this year. I'll see if I can make a podcast work on my end. Will announce it here, first. (But, more regular newsletters are on the agenda first and foremost, David. Hope I can count on you being a reader, too!)
I'm in!!!!! I will always take the time to read your stuff. A new podcast would be awesome!!! Need a co-host? HA HA, nothing fancy.... just be you. As I have told you many times I worked many years and always had your podcast pushing me to learn and work towards financial independence. Retired at 55 and now looking to teach and give back.
I just love that, David. It's a great example of someone who dug in, plugged away, saved smartly and invested for the long run. Well done!
I'll have to get back to you once I've worked out the podcast a bit more. How about this: When I get it up and running, maybe we'll do a segment called "Success Stories" and feature you!
Do I get any perks? Being a long time frugal person with an excellent credit score I have a collection of credit cards with different bonus categories. One has 5% on groceries, another 5% on restaurants, another 5% on gasoline, another 5% on utilities and cable service, the Target 5% Red Card, and rotating 5% on a few more categories such as drugstores, warehouse clubs etc. Add to that cards that offered a generous bonus if you charged a certain amount within the first 90 days. A recent one also had zero interest for a year - used that for some big purchases with the money left in a high interest online money market account. The first credit card I had was a BankAmericard Visa card probably around 1966. Yeh, I’m old. 😂
Older but wiser for sure. Nice collection of credit card perks. In the past year, I got 75,000 miles from a new card, which wound up saving me $60/seat on all of my (now free) upgraded flights. That was worthwhile, too.

I don't really keep track. No more than I can fully pay for without incurring credit card interest.
Exactly. Do you get any perks? Like, cash back, airline miles, etc?

I spent more on goods but less on cash gifts - it’s crazy how much things cost now! Thanks for all those key points of information- Happy New Year!
It is crazy, Lisa. Thanks for sharing. Happy 2024 to you and yours!
