There's an interesting story in today's New York Times, I think, about how Gen Z and even younger Millennials have something called Money Dismorphia. It's the idea that you're surrounded by social media images of the "great and beautiful life" you're supposed to be having. Young people are trying to buy that life and put it on their credit cards, so they wind up deeply in debt. Living beyond your means. Never goes out of style, sadly.
I agree. They see a video influencer and they want that!!! To them it looks so easy to post and make money. Social media is so powerful. I grew up mowing lawns for cash. It taught me so much about money and what things cost. I don't know ANY teenager that would do that now.
Good morning from Los Angeles!!!!
Good morning from Chicago - where we still have crazy amounts of fog and rain (very unlike the winters of my youth).
All I know is sunny LA.
So hard for young people especially in LA. They also want the big money!!! They will no longer take the entry level jobs and work the ladder.
