don't say a word. The same with religion, it just isn't worth my time to get mixed-up in finger pointing and name calling. When did we loost the respect for other people's views?
I always try to be kind in more ways. I pick up garbage in the parking lot. I help people in and out of their car. I say hi and wave. Politically I usually don't

In your latest newsletter in your article entitled Most Interesting Thing, it seems like there is a disconnect in that you mention millions and billions in the same article for the same time period - such as 10 million people and 10 billion people. for the same time period. I sent you an email about this before I finished reading your whole newsletter on this subject also. It seems like the million designation should really be billion.

War on kindness? There is no such thing. Think of the thousands of pounds of food distributed by GCFD every week. Those who hold the door open for a senior citizen (or anybody). Those who have donated food, money, services to organizations like the Salvation Army. The hundreds of kids sent to Kids Camp thanks to donations from WGN listeners. The list goes on and on and on and....
What HAS changed in this country is a media focus on 'vocal minority'. Whether that be who got shot today, MAGA (sorry, maybe inappropriate), the large wave in California which injured people, etc. That doesn't mean the world is unsafe, reflections of majority opinions, or the California coast is unsafe (taking them in order of listing).
Does anyone care that I made over 200 turkey dinners in December for those in need...in shelters, on hard financial times, etc.? The ultimate answer is yes. It won't make the news, nor should it. I'm just one of many millions who are kind and help out others. Nowadays, it's the 'vocal minority' that make the news. May that NOT continue to shread opinions of this country in 2024.

Sorry for your loss. We lost our 33 year old son at the start of 2023. It is sill difficult for us. I hope your heart will heal with time.
